Dr. Laura Worthy

Dr. Worthy

Dr. Laura Worthy opened Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital in December, 2007. She is a native of Stephens County, graduating from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked in small animal practice since 1981. She also participated in an anesthesia program at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. In addition, Dr. Worthy was a surgery instructor at The University of Wisconsin and Auburn University.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Worthy founded Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital with the goal of providing high quality, personalized, and affordable health care for that special furry family member. Her areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, endocrinology, cardiology, ultrasonography, dentistry, and preventative care. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Personal Life

Dr. Worthy is married to Bo Worthy and they have 7 children and 1 grandchild, 1 dog (Eliot), and 2 cats (Blue and Louie). She enjoys biking, running, walking, and playing tennis.


Dr. Emily Underwood

Dr. UnderwoodDr. Emily Underwood grew up in Clarkesville, Georgia. She graduated from Habersham Central High School before attending the University of Georgia, where she studied wildlife biology. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015, and she is very excited to be the newest member of the Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital team.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Underwood’s main area of interest is developing long-term relationships with clients and pets that enhance the human-animal bond. She is also interested in surgery and feline medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Personal Life

Dr. Underwood is married to Stanley “Bo” Underwood, who also grew up in Habersham County. They have one dog (Toby) and one cat (Xander). In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
